    APF beats Dharan

    KATHMANDU, Feb 23 - Gyanendra Armed Police Force Officers' Club (APF) fought hard to enter the pre-quarterfinals of the Aaha Gold Cup football tournament here Wednesday. APF defeated Dharan Football Club 4-3 in tiebreakers after both the teams were tied at 2-2 in regulation time.
    APF's Raghu Prajapati, Chandra Rana, Ajay KC and Jibesh Pandey scored while Milan Shrestha and Rishi Rai from Dharan missed their spot-kicks. Milan had scored two goals in the regulation time. Sudeep Limbu, Pradeep Acharya and Sulabh Jung Rana converted their spot-kicks for Dharan.

    Earlier, Milan gave Dharan an early lead scoring in the eighth minute. Dharan led until the break but APF captain Jibesh cancelled it in the 47th minute. APF then took the lead in the 67th minute through Ajay KC. Spurred by the crowd, Dharan fought back with Milan finding the nets again in the 80th minute.

    APF now meets national league champion Manang Marsyangdi Club on February 26. Today, Tribhuvan Army Club plays Knight Chess Club of Jhapa.
