Jan 14 2008, Kathmandu - Leaders of ruling seven-party alliance have vowed to make the joint rally on Monday a grand success in the capital and said they have completed all preparations.

Talking to journalists at Nepali Congress central office, SPA leaders said they expect hundreds of thousands of people to pour into Khulla Manch (Open Theater) to listen to the first election rally for Constituent Assembly.

"Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala is eager to come to Khulla Manch to address the rally despite suffering from chest infection," said NC Vice-President Prakash Man

Singh. "He has taken complete rest today to avoid problems for tomorrow and we hope his health will favor him."

Maoist leader Prachanda, UML Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal along with top leaders of the ruling SPA will address the mass meeting.

"It will be a strong blow to those trying to foil the election," said UML leader Krishna Gopal Shrestha. Shrestha said the organizers have installed sound devices in several places from Tri-Chandra College to Martyrs' Gate considering the possible flow of people. Apart from joint rallies from Maitighar, Kalimati, Bhrikuti Mandap and Bagbazaar, Maoists are planning to take out rallies from eight different places, according Jhakku Subedi of the Maoists.
