'SPA deal opened door to CA polls'

Dec 28 2007,Rupandehi - Speaker Subas Chandra Nemwang Thursday said that the 23-point agreement reached among the Seven-Party Alliance has ended mistrust and uncertainty and opened the door to the Constituent Assembly election.
Inaugurating a community forest programme in Shankarnagar in Rupendehi district today, Speaker Nemwang said as the parties would reach an agreement before fixing a new CA polls date, the elections would be held this time by Mid-April.
He said that he hoped that a new date for the CA polls would be fixed within a few days.
He urged the political parties to remain united as their unity would only ensure the rights of the people.
Saying that the elected CA would secure the rights of all people and end all discrimination, he also urged all concerned parties to focus on holding the elections.
The seven parties had struck the 23-point deal on Sunday following which the Maoists had agreed to rejoin the government.
