NC, UML, Maoist Leaders Meet to End Political Deadlock

Dec 09 2007 - Leaders of the Nepali Congress, the CPN-UML and the Maoists today held a meeting in Lalitpur to find a way out of the directives given by the special session of the interim parliament to the government on November 4.

The leaders also discussed current political issues, including the issues raised by the Maoists, keeping the election on the centre stage, adjustment of the Maoists' PLA, effective management of the Maoist cantonments, relief assistance to the martyrs' families and injured ones and restructuring the interim government before the CA polls.

Acting President Shusil Koirala, Ram Chandra Poudel and Krishna Prsad Sitaula from the NC and Madhav Kumar Nepal and other leaders from the UML took part in the meeting. Maoist chairman Prachanda and leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai were also present in the meeting.
