Aug 30 2007 - The government Thursday finalized additional seven names for the vacant posts of ambassadors, including four proposed by CPN-Maoist and forwarded it to the Parliamentary Hearing Committee for the approval.
Earlier, the government had proposed names of the envoys for 16 nations to the Parliamentary Hearing Committee.

A cabinet meeting held at Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar has agreed to recommend the Maoist candidates Pampha Bhusal, Vijayalal Kanta Karna, Yogendra Dhakal and Dr Rishi Adhikari as the Nepal’s ambassadors to France, Denmark, Australia and Malaysia, respectively.

Likewise, Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan informed that the cabinet meeting also decided to recommend UML candidates Kamal Koirala as the Nepali ambassador to South Korea and Arjun Bahadur Thapa as the envoy to Israel.

However, the cabinet still could not finalize the appointment of secretaries.

After the Cabinet Administration Committee failed to finalize names of all 27 secretaries due to differences among ministers, the task was handed over to the prime minister's office.
