     -  Telegraph Nepal

July 19 2007 - In the midst of growing violence in Terai, Nepal’s Prime Minster today summoned the outgoing Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Mr. Shiv Shankar Mukherjee at his official residence in Baluatar.

A faction of Nepali media-allegedly close to the South-Block establishment- have been airing that Mr. Mukherjee is being replaced by Rakesh Sud- currently serving Indian Government in Afghanistan.

This meet according to reports was set for identifying solutions to end the ever mounting violence in Terai. Nepal's Terai shares more than one thousand Kms of open border with India’s notorious states called as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh (UP).

Nepali leaders have been alleging that Indian states of Bihar and UP have proved to be a safe haven for criminal outfits from both the sides.

The Indian ambassador, according to reports has been urged to improve security situation along the Indian side to bar the criminal outfits sneaking into the Nepali territory, which they have been doing as per their will.

Nepal’s acclaimed border experts claim that the Indian Security forces have been virtually aiding the criminals to enter into the Nepali Territory; else with their enormous presence along the border, armed men sneaking into the Nepali territory is almost impossible.
There have also been incidents wherein the Indian security forces too have been found terrorizing people living in the Nepali side.
