    UNMIN chief Martin unhappy

     -  Telegraph Nepal

July 16 2007 - Criticizing the recent Maoist outrage against the UN mission in Nepal, Ian Martin-the UNMIN Chief said that the Maoists allegations were baseless.

Mr. Martin today organized a press meet at the UN House in Kathmandu.

The Maoists leadership had claimed that during the verification process at the Chulachuli division, the UNMIN representatives talking to the Women Militias were found in violating the established Nepalese culture, tradition and sensitivities as well.

Commenting on this Maoist allegation, Mr. Martin said we are currently in Nepal at the request of the Nepal government, the comments made by the Maoists commanders are not ear-pleasing.

Once Mr. Martin was considered as a Maoist Friendly foreign dignitary in Nepal. Appears the friendship is at peril. July 16, 2007
