Hits FM 91.2 Music Awards held

KATHMANDU: The 9 th Hits FM 91.2 Music Awards 2062 was held today at the Birendra International Convention Centre.
The winners in the 18 categories including the the Lifetime Achievement Award was as follows:

Lifetime Achievement Award:
Kumar Basnyat

1. Best New Artist:

Those new talents who have released a first single/album in the eligible year are included in this category.
The nominees are:

2. Best Female Pop Vocal Performance:

Those female singers who have released a song with arrangements of more western instruments in the eligible year are included in this category.

According to Hits FM, the nominations were chosen from singles, albums and music videos registered at Hits FM 91.2 in the year 2061. The preliminary nominations in various categories for the Hits FM Music Awards are based on an extensive nationwide listener poll conducted through the Hits FM website, it said.

An event looked forward to by the entire music industry and music enthusiasts, the 9th Hits FM Music Awards is sponsored by Close-Up in association with Himalayan Bank, Lumbini Bank, Machchhapuchhre Bank and supported by Hero Honda Karizma, Philips and Annapurna Post, the official print media of the award ceremony.

Hits FM has been involved in promoting artistes in the Nepali music industry ever since its inception a decade ago. Using radio as a support medium, Hits FM 91.2 has been hosting the music awards annually since 1997.

The Awards has gained stature and size, category-wise, over the years. Starting with seven categories, the total number now stands at 19, including the Lifetime Achievement Award.
